Visual Sun Chart Tutorial
 
This tutorial shows how to make buildings and trees transparent, so that you can see the Sun Chart behind them. In this example, we will use the scene that was modelled in the View From Origin Tutorial. But you can use any scene with this tutorial.

shading from proposed buildings.

This is the view we will use for illustration purposes (from the View From Origin Tutorial).

 
 
60% Transparency  
 
To view the scene with 60 percent transparency, select
View > Scene Object Transparency > 60% Transparency
 
 
 
Custom Transparency  
 
To set a custom transparency level, select
View > Scene Object Transparency > Custom . . .
 
Then specify 35% Transparency:
 
 
 
When using Custom Transparency, the scene is instantly redrawn as you move the transparency slider bar.
This allows you to quickly go back and forth between high and low transparency levels.
